BRENTWOOD, Tenn. Nov 10 2012Brentwood police on Mondayarrested the owner of Carnival Kia Automotive Group, Jerry "Chris"Bostick, on assault and weapons charges after an argument with his wife turnedphysical.
According to a Brentwood police affidavit, during theargument Sunday evening at the family's Brentwoodhome, Bostick slammed the front door in his wife's face causing a "visibleknot" on her face and red mark on her arm.
Moments later, when she tried to call 911, Bostick knockedthe phone out of her hand, causing it to fall to the floor, the affidavitstated.
Bostick's wife fled the home and later called police fromthe parking lot of Brentwood High School.
She reportedly handed over an audio tape of the argument toinvestigators. Responding officers did not include in their report if theBostick's children were present during the altercation.
Officers responded to the family's home and found ChrisBostick had left on foot.
During a search of the residence, police found an AR-15assault rifle near the bed in the couple's bedroom and a handgun tucked underthe mattress.
Bostick pleaded nolo contendere and was convicted of felonycarrying a concealed weapon in 1989.
As a result Bostick is not allowed to possess firearms.
According to records from Florida, Bostick also had arrests forreckless driving, resisting arrest and fleeing.
The 53-year-old surrendered at Brentwood Police Headquartersthe following day.
He was booked into the Williamson Countyjail on charges of domestic assault and being a felon in possession of a weaponand later released after posting a $5,000 bond, police said.
A November 15 court date has been set.
Bostick did not comment on the arrest when reached by phone,Thursday.
The Carnival Kia Automotive Group includes dealerships inFranklin, Hickory Hollow and Rivergate.
