SUMTER, S.C.Nov 21 2012  Sumter Countysheriff's deputies are investigating the shooting death of a man who was tryingto repossess a truck.
Chief Deputy Hampton Gardner says 45-year-old Todd Showellof Lee County was shot and killed Tuesdayafternoon.
Gardner says Showell andanother man arrived at the Sumterhome looking for a pickup truck.
Deputies say 81-year-old Alton Shelley came out of the homewith a handgun.
Investigators say a truck in front of the home was not thevehicle the men were seeking and they drove away. Investigators say Shelleyfired several times, killing Showell. Investigators say the truck the menwanted was behind the home.
Shelley is charged with murder and aggravated assault. Itwas not clear if he has an attorney.
