Marion County KY Deputy Sheriff Shot To Death

LEBANON, KY Nov 142012- A MarionCounty sheriff's deputy has been shot and killed, and Kentucky State Police saythey have caught the suspected gunman.
Investigators say that at around 2 a.m. Marion County DeputyAnthony Raikes stopped a 2007 KIA on US 68. During the traffic stop the drivershot Deputy Raikes.
Raikes was taken to SpringviewHospital in Lebanon, where died in surgery ofhis wounds.
Troopers caught up with the driver, Dewayne Shipp, 49, andarrested him in Campbellsville.  Shipphad been shot in the leg, possibly by Deputy Raikes. At last report, Shipp wasbeing treated at the Taylor County Hospital.
Deputy Raikes was a six year veteran of the Marion CountySheriff's Department and had previously served with the Lebanon PoliceDepartment.
