Pittsburgh Public Schools police officer resigns over sexual assault complaint www.privateofficer.com


Pittsburgh PA Sept 19 2012 The Pittsburgh PublicSchools board has scheduled a special legislative meeting to accept theresignation of school police officer Robert Lellock, who was suspended after aformer student, now an adult, accused him of sexual assault.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the boardheadquarters in Oakland,immediately before its agenda review meeting.
Chief of staff Lisa Fischetti Monday said the district hadasked for and received the resignation of Mr. Lellock, 43, who was suspendedwith pay on July 25. He had worked for the district since 1990.
"We have now received information we had not had beforethat has prompted us to move quickly to take steps to separate his employmentfrom the district," Ms. Fischetti said.
She declined to elaborate on the information.
Mike Manko, spokesman for the Allegheny Countydistrict attorney, today said the investigation is "still inprogress."
Mr. Manko said the case involves more than one formerstudent but declined to say how many.
